Bowling...the fun, the crazy, and the ugly!

We took Lukas bowling on New Years Eve in my Aunt and Uncle's small little town they live in.  He absolutely loved it.  He was so good while we were there too.  He would go for half of his turns, but I bowled his other turns when he just didn't want to come and bowl.  The small little bowling alley was great for his age.  It was more enclosed, more places to sit and wait for your turn, closer spots to eat, and updated with technology.  It made the visit with him to the bowling alley really great!  He had less space to run crazy, he sat close to us while we were bowling, and every time it was his turn to bowl the bumpers would come out.  He had so much fun!  The only time he didn't want his turn was when he was eating his french fries.  French fries are serious business...he just loves them!  We had so much fun at the nicer, newer, and kid friendly small town bowling alley.

Well then we decided to go bowling this last weekend.  My Mom didn't get to come with us New Years Eve so we asked her to go this last weekend instead, but in our own home town bowling alley.  Our bowling alley in our town is much bigger, old, and it was hard to keep him bowling when the game machines were right behind us.  They didn't have any bumper lanes available so even if he did go and get excited he didn't always get any pins down.  It was hard to keep his attention and get him to concentrate. All he wanted to do was run around like a crazy man and climb on the racing machines.  We did get him to bowl about half of one game, but like I said he didn't get much without having any bumpers.  I really wish the owner of our bowling alley would put some money into the bowling alley.  The place is behind in technology, and it needs so much to update the whole place.  It's too bad.  Bowling with Lukas really was a challenge at our bowling alley.  I am hoping as he gets older it will get easier.
