Softball Fun!
Wednesday night was so beautiful! It's wasn't 90 something degrees or humid and sticky. My husband plays as a sub for his brother's softball team. Since Wednesday night was an early game and it was nice Lukas and I went out to Daddy's softball game. He waved to Uncle Joe and begged him to let him play 'biseball'. Uncle Joe said "maybe later buddy." He kept wanting to go in the dugout, but surprisingly listened to me really well. Grandma Kathy and I would take turns chasing him and playing with him. Other times he would just play with his cars (McQueen and Chicka) or eat the crackers I brought him. We actually got to watch the game, which really surprised me! Grandma Kathy spoiled him and got him a freezy! He was in heaven! It was really fun taking him out to the game!

Drive Through at Subway
OK...it's finally Thursday! One more day to Friday thank goodness! I cannot wait for the holiday weekend to start. We don't have much planned, but there is plenty I would like to get done. Here's hoping I can accomplish my list.
Anyway, yesterday my husband had softball and Lukas and I had plans to go to the cemetery to put flowers on my grandpa's grave with my Mom so we decided to have a fast supper. We went through the drive through at our local subway and got some $5 foot-longs! Lukas and I shared some of my sandwich and Chris got a foot-long to himself. That was way too much food for me to eat at one time! Well while we were ordering Chris was asking me what I wanted and I would tell him. Lukas was in the backseat copying everything I said and then he would copy the questions that Chris was asking. Once we got done ordering the man in the intercom told us thank you and to pull around to the window. Lukas said "thank you, bye bye." We both laughed! It was so funny that he was trying to order with us and that he just wanted to be involved. Lukas didn't much like the sandwich so I had to make a peanut butter sandwich for him anyway. It was cute though!

Big Helper!
Lukas is our big helper! Lukas has become a wonderful helper! He asks or tries to help with everything. Sometimes he will help even when we don't want his help. We know that he just wants to make us happy so we let him help though.
Lukas loves to mow the lawn with Daddy! Almost every time Daddy mows Lukas will run over there grab the shorter bar on the mower and help push. Sometimes he will even grab his own little plastic mower and copy Daddy. Then other times he will play chicken with Daddy while he is mowing. It's so cute and priceless when he wants to help! What a big little boy we have!

Final Episode of LOST
Good afternoon! My favorite TV show is now done. I was a religious LOST viewer, but May 23rd they aired the final episode and brought the series to a close. Every Tuesday night I propped Lukas in my bedroom and had him watch Sponge Bob while I indulged in my TV show LOST. It's sad that it's gone now.
I must say the show brought many emotional, crazy, intense, and strange moments. Most the time you were lost by the end of an episode just wondering what exactly happened. I loved that about the TV show. I guess the finale wasn't any different. I think all in all the show was about character development and how they used, cared, and dealt with each other. There were a lot of questions that weren't answered, but I am going to say that I am OK with the unanswered questions. The characters problems were resolved and that is good enough for me. I loved the end and I will leave it at that.
Well last night I had my Mom and brother Eddie over for supper and for the big LOST finale. Lukas was so funny! Every time we reacted he reacted or copied us. I would gasp and cover my mouth, throw my hands in the air with happiness, or laugh...he would do the same. It was so cute. He was watching the TV along with us and getting into the last show like we were. He made my night and the finale to LOST much more memorable.
Goodbye LOST! I will miss my favorite TV show!

Goals for the Summer
*Start the Inspiring and Patriotic music*
This summer I have 3 goals...
1. I want to read 1 book! Yes I know 1 book isn't much, but when you hang out with a 2 year old the whole summer there isn't much time for books. So I picked this book . It's a longer one, but I am hoping I can do it!
2. Plant a garden with: some peppers, tomatoes, and maybe lettuce. Maintain and use veggies from the garden. This will be probably my hardest goal! I usually kill plants. Not on purpose!
3. Run in a 5K or just do my own 5K pushing Lukas in the jogging stroller. This shouldn't be too bad. A 5K is only 3.1 miles and I currently run 2.6 miles with Lukas in the jogging stroller. I am hoping to do this sometime this summer.
Goals for Lukas this summer:
1. Teach him to put his shoes on. Or try!
2. Start the potty training introducing. Get him used to the idea and give him an idea what it's used for.
3. Get rid of that mean phrase "shup". I do not want him saying it at all!
These are just some of the things I want to do this summer. Summer isn't even here yet and I already feel like it's going to go fast. I hope I am wrong!

Totally Tuckered
Birthday parties are a lot of work! All the excitement, the party, and then all the playing! For Lukas his birthday was one big hyper day of fun! I couldn't get him to take a nap that day for anything. We wrestled a little at one point to try to get him to settle down and relax, but he was not having it. His party was at 2pm and I finally gave up around 12:30pm. No use getting him down for a nap and then waking him up all crabby. That night around 7pm Lukas was down for the count. He totally tuckered out and passed out on the couch! Birthdays are a lot of work!

Backyard Heaven
Never did I realize how much I would love my backyard. We are working on it a little more each weekend and it's really starting to come together. We still have some big plans, but for now we need to enjoy and save up some money for more projects. Since the middle of April we have put a sliding door in our kitchen to the backyard, poured concrete, and got Lukas outside equipment (with the help of some family for his birthday!) It's all really paying off! Last night Lukas played outside in his sandbox...or should I say he was dumping the sand out of the sandbox while I made supper. Then after supper we went back outside and played on his slides and with bubbles. It was a perfect evening. Memorial weekend I am planning on making a flower area in the corner of our yard, planting a garden in another corner, filling in rock around the concrete, and then painting Brett's flower beds he made me when I graduated college and planting flowers in his memory in them. Lots to do...hope the weather and Lukas cooperates!

Shhup
Well I knew eventually it was going to happen. Lukas is learning some of the undesirable phrases from everywhere. He has learned and started saying shut up. We aren't completely sure where he got the phrase shut up, but it has to be nipped in the bud! I don't want him walking around saying shhup to everyone and everything. It's not a nice phrase. Last night I was making some cupcakes for his birthday treats for daycare and he was sitting at the table. The dogs were outside and they had started barking. He started saying "Monny, Daisy shhup!" I went over and told him "Lukas we don't say that, we say hush!" He looked right at me and said "no Mama." Then he started yelling at the dogs again to shhup. I was in shock.
He is such a sponge lately. We say one thing and he copies me or my husband. We don't usually say shut up though. When I usually tell the dogs to be quiet I say "hush" or "enough." Who knows where he got this one from. We will be trying to redirect that phrase to something else and let him know it's not a nice phrase.

Cars...Cars...and more Cars.
My sweet little guy has an obsession and it's the Pixar movie Cars. Not only does he like to watch the movie over and over and over, but he likes to play with the little cars we got him from the movie. Every day we come home from work/daycare and I put on Cars the movie while I start supper if it is too icky to go outside. Lukas will then go find his cars to hold and play with during the movie. Last night he had them all lined up next to him on the coach while I made him relax before bedtime. He will even ask if he can have his cars while we eat. He calls the red car "AQeen" which is one of his favorites Lighting McQueen, the green car "Chicka" because of the noise he makes in the movie his name is Chick though, and then he will always ask what the blue one's name is (The King), however he never says his name. He will make car noises while playing with the cars and then sometimes he makes them crash. It's really cute watching him play pretend with his cars!

Muv You!
Good morning! Well I am writing this in the morning anyway...my heart has been melted again! Last night I was putting Lukas to bed and he gave me a big squeeze then told me "nite Mama, muv you." Then he grabbed his blankies and rolled over to go to sleep. I smiled and said "aww Lukas, I love you too buddy." I walked out of his room last night feeling like a million bucks! It's amazing how great your little one can make you feel. Yes there are times I would like to pull my hair out when he is being naughty or his natural curious self, but I feel moments like last night totally cancel out all the frustrating moments. I don't have lots of frustrating moments yet...I am sure once we hit the terrible two's I will see more, but as long as he pours on the sweetness from time to time we will be OK.
Tonight my husband and I are going shopping for Lukas's 2nd birthday! He will turn 2 on Sunday and I honestly can't believe my little guy is already two. Where in the heck did time go? His littleness doesn't feel quite so little anymore. I am surprised I actually miss when he was a newborn. The 1st week we brought him home literally feels like it was only a couple months ago. Time just goes too fast!

Mr Sick
Last week really got away from us. My husband and some family were busy digging up our backyard for our concrete patio and getting it all ready. Wednesday night Lukas was really clingy and wanted nothing but Mama. Well sometime after he went to sleep and I woke him up Thursday morning he had vomited all over his crib. I did hear him make a few crying noises that night, but he went right back to sleep. Well Thursday morning when I woke him up he had it on his face and in his hair. I couldn't believe he slept in it. My poor little man. I stayed home with him all day Thursday and he didn't eat much. His appetite wasn't normal at all. Since he wasn't acting himself I decided to keep him home Friday too. He woke up Friday morning crying. I went and got him cuddled him and then he vomited all over again. I had to change him and myself. He was so scared after he did it. I felt so bad for him. After we both were clean I made him some toast and he ate a few bites, but he still wasn't interested in much food. He took a nice long nap that afternoon and he also had many dirty diapers that day too. Between him getting all the bad stuff out one way or another he was feeling much better after his nap. Saturday he was back to himself. He ate more and was running and playing again. This was my first encounter with Lukas puking. Not my favorite thing to clean up, but I am glad he is doing better now. He was my Mr. Sick last week. Poor little guy!

Outside...Now with a Sliding Door!
Boy oh boy was last week busy! We got our furnace replaced and a sliding door installed! We haven't really had to test the furnace yet. It did pop on Saturday morning, but I only noticed it because I was down stairs working from home early in the morning. It was nice and quiet! The sliding door is something I absolutely love! I am not sure why we didn't do this sooner? It's easier with the dogs and Lukas! He will sit at the door with his shoes begging to go "soside" which is how he says outside. I can let him go outside and he can run around with the dogs while I am in the kitchen. I can see him from the window. He doesn't like to be outside by himself, so I don't leave him by himself for long. Only a few minutes. We have a privacy fence up and he has the whole yard to run and play. I think this summer will be the first summer we spend a lot of time in our backyard!
